love is a drum, hear it beating for you

I’ve been kind of in a runt with my other domains – funnily enough, I manage to design everything but am too lazy/not motivated to add content. So most of HeartWar’s revamp, which was done months ago, is still sitting on my computer T_T. And now that the designs are quite old, I no longer like them. Vicious cycle.

Truthfully, I am not sure if I want to keep HeartWar.NET anymore. Oh no, I love the name. I’m certainly going to keep that. But I find that I no longer have time for managing shrines (or even getting them up, lol) and fanlistings. I’m hoping it’s just a phase but it’s pretty evident after a year of no updates. I still have to think about it though.

In other news, I’ve been on a designing roll. I’ve been creating simple WP themes of late:

Admittedly, it looks better when you can actually see it ‘live’ but I won’t show them just yet ^^.

I’m a messy, lazy coder and eventually if something does go my way, I do it the ‘hacky/wonky’ way ๐Ÿ™‚ But I really tried to do it the ‘proper’ way and while it was a little tedious, it was also quite liberating. I dunno, my passion for webdesign just flared again ๐Ÿ™‚

For the themes, I was thinking of: 1) Offering it for free. 2) Offer it for only Three-Words hostees 3) Offer it to onlyย paidย Three-Words hostees (incentive?) 4) Sell them for extremely affordable prices ^^ 5) Not offer it at all, lol.

The problem with me is that normally, if I design something, I like to keep it to myself rather than share it. LOL! Selfish, I know.ย But because credits can ‘magically’ disappear. I know people can still steal once you put it on the web etc. but yeah. Sometimes offering a layout/theme for download to some people means ‘we can just copy and paste the coding, yay!’ Urgh.

Which leads me to my next point.

I had a thiefย problem.

Sometimes I see common coding etc. but given the simplistic nature of my layouts, I don’t go ‘HEY! YOU STOLE FROM ME!’ because honestly, that’s just plain silly and stupid. I didn’t invent coding, just as Stephanie Meyer didn’t invent vampires.ย But I had someone blantanly rip my previous Sky-Song layout, along with HeartWar and a couple of other layouts.ย And she refused to acknowledge it or remove them.ย It became all messy, complicated and in the end I had to resort contacting her host who finally shut her down. Nonetheless, she can just come back again. I’m sure she’s stalking my blog – hi! But I shouldn’t let my life be dictated by ignorant people.

And speaking about ‘selling’ them for a cheap price – I don’t think anyone would actually buy them T_T. They’re simple. Well, admittedly the top two (which are the same themes but light and dark) are a little more ‘different’ but I dunno.

Would you ever buy a theme from me?ย

*BRACES FOR REJECTION* ๐Ÿ˜€ Hahaha. No seriously, you can say no. I’ll just crawl into a corner and cry ย still love you!ย โค

Ahaha, sorry, but I won’t purchase them… LOL. It’s because I can make my own theme yeap, so… ^^; I think you can ask others for the opinions. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But, they are nice! Serious! It looks so organized and I know your design skills! You are great in web designing! ๐Ÿ˜€ So… Don’t cry! *pats*

Stupid thief! *is mad* Internet is so amazing, and so it has its own pros and cons. ._______.

OMG MISAKI! I think just after you visited my blog and commented; my blog got hacked; -.- WTF! seriously. the hacker deleted more than half of my wordpress contents! O.o And added a weird file in it; I couldn’t do anything. I contacted my host and they told me to RECREATE~ seriously, NO WAY; my blog is 2 years old+++ going three soon!
I had to pay them to restore backup -.- And that wonderful CNY post is gone; well luckily, only ONE post is gone. Have you been hacked before? It’s the second time that I got hacked -.-

Sorry! I haven’t been leaving comments either. :S
Ahh, I do like heartWAR.net too; just like me, i have no time for my z-motion.org anymore. it’s just there, deaded, But it seems like imma find a new name. And restart a new concept and change what ever I wanna do. In fact, i feel like opening an online shop! Selling posters/cards of my art pieces; but like you, i doubt there will be people who wanna buy it.

Once again, my codes have been ripped off like mad too; credits just disappear, they replaced the image and say designed by them. Seriously gets us designers/codes pissed off right? But i think i’ve had better luck, she decided to put a credit link. But then again, i hate it when people use the free designs i provide and they used it as “base codes” with their poorly designed images. I think that totally drags down my image as a designer; LOL
Sadly, i wouldn’t buy your themes, because I can code them myself! ๐Ÿ™‚ But if i was a noob and your themes aren’t priced too high, I will consider again ๐Ÿ˜€
    Cya ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy CNY! (my-forever-so-long-comment!)

Well maybe you can make HeartWar just a fanlisting collective? I have a bunch of subdomains for the purposes for your domains haha. Easier to manage I think.

Even though I can hardly see the WP themes they look lovely from a distance! I think you should offer them to Three-Words hostees that way you can limit them and I’d still be able to get them. LOL I’M SO SELFISH! I wouldn’t buy a theme from you because I can’t. I can’t send money to Australia, haha!

That girl sounds like a total byotch if she won’t acknowledge she’s a thief. I’ve only come across people who stole but then gave credit. Sometimes I’ve seen things similar to my own but hey I don’t own it or anything.

Omg I’ve heard of people eating intestines. EWWW!

I’ve owned a hanbok just not currently. My mom threw it out.

Either way, paid or non-paid, people still can steal your layout and claim it as their own unless they get caught, which I hope they do because they really deserve it for doing something so ridicious. They really need to get a life. Maybe make their own layout. I’m sure it’s not that hard. It just takes time, effort, and a really good program. When I use a layout, I like it the way it is. I’ll just edit the coding to my liking. That’s just my preference. If you need the money for domain wise, I’d say sell it for a decent price.

I loooove those designs! So much “like me” ๐Ÿ˜› I want those!!! Please show them to us soon.

Yup, it’s a difficult desicion. I actually might pay for a design if it’s affordable. I’ve only a few times used someone else’s design (free-to-take theme with a link credit at the bottom of the page) and usually those designs have a “take free if you include a link credit” and “pay $ to remove the link credit”. That’s a good choise in my opinion.

Your themes are really worth selling but I wouldn’t buy them.
NOT because they arent nice, but its the fact that im unwilling to part with my money. T.T

Maybe if you can sell a really nice simple layout theme base. Where its easy for us to customize.
I might consider that. ๐Ÿ˜€ I have this thinking of “Wouldn’t it better if the theme you use is made by yourself?”. I mean, that way it’ll be more personalised, more “you”. Right? =/

But I read once before, to start on selling wordpress themes, you could like offer one for free. That free theme will generate more interest and in turn generate $$ for you. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Hope that helps!

If you do decide to offer them to just Three-Words hostees, I’ll definitely snap one up! ๐Ÿ˜€ I’ve been in the process of creating my own theme lately, but I keep getting lazy about it. I have the opposite of your passion for webdesign flaring. I feel like I’m in some sort of design rut. I’ve noticed that I’ve been making stupid coding mistakes on easy peasy stuff that I normally wouldn’t make. I don’t know what’s happening!

I’m sorry about your thief problem. I think no matter what we do, there will always be those people who don’t appreciate hard work and will always steal. Maybe it’s because the Internet is so anonymous and they think they won’t get caught. I’m glad you were able to get to her host, though. Hopefully, that taught her a lesson and she’ll be less likely to steal from you or anyone else again? Hopefully…

Your layouts look elegant from here! The simplest yet elegant theme I can find. Personally, I don’t like themes with too much accessories, I find it messy…too messy.
I think you should take action for that stealer, even though that layout is just a ‘hacked’ kind of thing. I mean, you worked for it. If I were to be victimized, I’ll really be stalking her until she gives up.

Oooh! I love your designs! I like that they’re simple but very unique – my kind of style. ;P I can’t make layouts worth a darn, so I’m always amazed by what people can create. I think they are really great. Admittedly, I wouldn’t pay for them, but it’s not because they aren’t “worth” paying for. It’s just because I am broke, haha.

I’m sorry that someone was stealing your coding! That sucks that people do that. You took the time and effort to make a layout – for free! – and people can’t even leave a little link to your site or even admit that they stole it. I did LOL at the hi! to the stalker. xD At least her host shut her down – a just thing to do, I think.
