Freedom! (Party Time ♫)

Yeah, I disappeared for just a little bit 🙂 Exams. You get the drill.

But I’m done and you know what that means? Party time! ♫ Ah no, it’s more like ‘omg I’m freeeeee!’….’okay, there’s nothing to do T_T’.

On the day I finished my exams, I went to watch Brave. It was a toss up between that and Snow White and the Huntsman but I think after an exam, it’s nice watching something light and fluffy so we went with Brave.

I loved it! I mean it may not have been completely ground-breaking but it was funny, light, heartwarming and perfect for post-exam syndrome. It deals with ‘mother and daughter’ relationships and I think it’s the ‘female’ version of Finding Nemo. I enjoyed Merida as the protagonist – she’s a good strong heroine. I think it’s great that they finally portrayed a heroine who’s endgame is not (typo before! LOL) just to get married.

During my exam period, I also managed to pick up a nasty cold. Stress = lowered immune system. Doesn’t help that I work in a pharmacy and have all these people coming in and coughing. Some people actually don’t even cover their mouths when they cough and I have to stand there, counselling the patient about how to take the medicine without pulling a disgusted face as it’s not professional. The moment they’re gone, I’m running to get the hand sanitiser and disinfectant spray and pretty much use half the spray lol. I’m pretty good now, though I still have the sniffles here and there.

I’m going to tell myself that I’m going to make use of my one month holiday but I’m pretty sure I’ll just be bumming around at home 😀 I’m eyeing some books to engross myself with.

I was in the book store the other day and Jo Spurrier’s debut novel Winter Be My Shield caught my eye. She’s an Australian author (so like Bitter Greens, you probably won’t be able to find the book) but I checked out some reviews on Good Reads and the book seems interesting. High fantasy was one of my favourite genres growing up. Here’s a link to the Google Play Book. I’ll hopefully buy the book within a few days and keep you updated with how it is 🙂

Oh, I’ve seen the “Brave” trailer and wanted to watch it. Who could resist the wild-haired, redhead heroine? 😀 And I have to agree with you there: Some people just don’t know that it’s disgusting to sneeze without covering their mouths. I even know quite a few who don’t cover their mouths when coughing. Ugh!

One month holiday? Wow! 😀 I sure hope you make the most out of it. I’ve never come across “Winter be My Shield” until you brought it up. I had my eye on “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” pretty recently.

You definitely went with the right choice – Snow White & The Huntsmen was a total flop for me, no thanks to a particular actress *twitches*. The trailer for Brave didn’t look particularly intriguing, but being a Pixar film, I had a feeling it’s gonna be good – and it seems like you confirmed my hunch 😉

Sorry to hear that you got sick D: People need to learn to cover their coughs and sneezes, it’s disgusting and unhygienic when they don’t -___-

I wanted to see Brave but haven’t so far. My brother saw it with some friends though and he said it was way better than Snow White and the Huntsman.

I hope you get well soon, that the one month vacation will help, not that it takes one month to get over a cold.

I really liked Brave! It wasn’t the best Disney Pixar movie, but I still thought it was really good. The animation was stunning, and the plot was sweet. But throughout the entire thing, my friend and I were just like “WE WANT YOUR HAIR.” -lol-

Thanks for the birthday wishes! They mean a lot.

READ IT READ IT READ IT. I’m warning you, you will cry. But it’s worth the heartbreak.

Yes, I have an obsession. A:TLA pretty much defined my middle school and early high school years, and, while I don’t like it *AS* much, I still thought LOK was brilliant. Have you seen the finale yet?

It’s quite rare to hear that the endgame of good strong heroines is “just to get married”. I’ve always had a problem with watching movies and dramas (I’m not sure about Brave) with a lot of gender stereotypes and messages like “the task of any woman is just to get married, stay at home and listen to the husband”. Every time I catch a hint of those things I’ll roll my eyes and feel extremely irritated.

Hope you get well soon! It IS disgusting when people don’t cover their mouths/noses when they sneeze or cough.

Winter be my Shield sounds interesting and I’ll look out for it.

    Have a good holiday!

Hooray for exams done! You deserve a break. Brave looks interesting. I think I might have the chance to watch it if there will be nothing much uni stuff.

Aww. Get well soon. You’re so exposed to a lot of illnesses that you couldn’t avoid it. It really is annoying when people do that.

Have fun on your one-month holiday!

I want it so badly. But, if I had it, it wouldn’t look so wild and beautiful. Just . . . wild, haha.

My dad made me cake a few days ago. He put it in the wrong-sized pan, so it was more like a brownie. Still good. And today my mom’s getting me an ice cream cake from Culver’s. O.O So, yeah. I’m getting my fill. -lol-

It’s definitely a tearjerker, but also so much more. Tell me when you read the book, so I can gush about it without giving too much away.

I own all the seasons (books) of A:TLA. The show is just wonderful. I wish all kid’s shows were that good. And YES! The finale was so epic. It was a feelings rollercoaster. When Tenzin and the airbabies appeared on stage? I was so worried Amon was gonna take their bending away. It was worse when Korra got hers taken away, because I figured something Avatar-y would happen to fix it.

I’m totally jealous now 🙁 I want to see Brave, in the theater… but more than likely won’t be able to for one reason or another. Fiddlesticks and stuff. Heck, maybe I’ll buy it when it comes to DVD 😀 Anyway… glad it’s a good movie 😀 I just finished my midterm a few hours ago… it’s still kind of bothering me, how little I knew! lol. It’s ok because it’s just an online course and no accreditation or anything, so no big deal… but I just like doing well on those types of things.

I’ll be sure to check out that book, it sounds pretty cool 😀

Wow, one month break. You deserve it! It;s good to hear you’re getting better. I don’t like when people feel sick and down :/

I get three months break and I already wallow away in books, blogging, and nothingness. I can’t find summer jobs since they are difficult to get. I want to see Brave for the kick of it, but my boyfriend doesn’t want to go with me so I never will see it. :/

I was wondering if we can be friends on goodreads? I don’t have many there and I’d love to get some book recommendations!

I totally feel you but I have two more papers to sit for before I’m free from the agony. I gotten pretty bad breakouts and flu during my studying and exam period which makes it difficult to concentrate.

Gah, you watched it already. Lucky you. I’m jealous. And I’m even more jealous of your one month holiday. 🙁

I hope your exams went well! And same with me, I tend to get sick when I have a lot of cramming to do :$ I cram.. not study.. because I tend to procrastinate. A lot.

I’m a little jealous! The cinemas around where I live are insanely over-priced, even for matinees, and so I never end up going to a movie theatre. I usually watch them online somewhere, or just rent a DVD and watch it with my neighbour who has this GIGANTIC tv in his room! But Brave is definitely a movie I’m going to watch, same with Snow White and the Huntsman. I love me some Chris Hemsworth. :3

Ooh! Winter Be My Shield is actually on my bedside table! I’m planning on reading it too, beacuse a friend recommended it to me – and I think you’ll finish before I do because I just have this huge stack of books to get through! I’d love to hear about it 🙂

Congratulations on finishing off with your exams! Being done with exams means you don’t need to pressure yourself with stress anymore. You’re lucky you went to watch Brave, it’s a cute movie. Snow White and the Huntsman is an awesome movie if you’re into the non-animated fairytale (only because Chris Hemsworth is in it).

I’m glad you loved Brave regardless. There’s always a lesson to be learned in these Disney animated movies. With a female taking the lead role, Merida is a great role model for little girls without the vision of getting married after :).

It is unfortuante to hear that you got a cold during your exam period. I hope you’ll get well soon :). If all else fails, use this month as a resting vacation. Good luck with getting that book too!

I don’t even know how to word my sentences when it comes to weddings since I’m a newbie at it. Yes, two of my friends are getting married to each other :). I know both of them to a higher level than many others since they were my support in my first few months in band :).

    Take care!

I’m so glad that I’ve amused everyone with my tale of great sorrow.

Hahaha, I’m only joking – afterwards, I was just sitting on my bed thinking: what am I doing with my life?

My poor pillow is ruined now though. I had to get a replacement. 🙁 I even named my pillow Alfie, but Alfie’s dead and gone (thrown away). I’m sure that piece of information would also be amusing, but I’m still a little sad. Pillow #2 isn’t as soft…

Hooray for no more exams! Having a movie to celebrate is always a fun way to wind down after all that stress. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the movie Brave. I’ll check it out sometime. I’m actually surprised it’s getting so many good reactions 🙂

Yes, I always tend to get sick during exam time! It’s the worst timing ever, but bound to happen when you’re stressed with a lack of sleep. I would imagine working at a pharmacy ups your chance of getting sick, lol. I don’t understand people who don’t know how to cover their mouths when they cough. I guess maybe they weren’t taught to do so as children :S
