Rain, rain go away

So I have less than 2 weeks before my finals and I really should be studying as I haven’t been studying consistently (no time to!) but then I suppose it’s no longer called studying…rather cramming.  But I’m a procrastinator – a very bad one at that T_T. It’s going to bite me in the butt, as always. Do I learn? Unfortunately no.

But I’m in that ‘I don’t give a damn stage’ of pre-exams. Anyone get that too? 🙂

And I’ve also missed blogging and you guys 😀

HeartWar.NET’s new layout – here

So what did I decide to do instead of study? Finally upload HeartWar.NET’s new layout. It’s been sitting on my hard disk for the last…umm…3 months. Yeah, I have a habit of finishing a design then leaving it there to gather dust then going back and completely hating it thus redesigning and then the vicious cycle starts again. I’ll ramble more about it later (under the read more). Speaking about that cycle…I still have 6 month old layouts for my shrines that I haven’t uploaded either. Lol, yeah I’m that bad. I’ll probably won’t get them up until after my exams though.

It’s freezing right now in Australia! Really cold! It’s been raining for the last couple of days and finally looked sunny yesterday, only for it to start pouring today. I hate going to uni on raining days – you have to battle the rain, the wind, your cheap umbrella praying that it won’t suddenly flip on you.

Actually I had a pretty bad experience of that in my first year of uni. It was pouring – heavily pouring and really windy and I whipped out my $5 flimsy umbrella, hoping that it would somehow cover me as I trekked to the station. Unfortunately, a very strong gust of wind flipped it up and while I battled to set it straight with raining pelting me, another gust of wind attacked and ripped the material from the metal framework of the umbrella. Yeah guys, so I was standing there holding the framework thinking ‘What. The. Hell’?!

The only upside was by the time I did a mad dash to the train station and got into the train, I was so soaking wet that no one would want to sit next to me (that and probably because I looked like a drowned rat…). Needless to say I’ve also learned not to use those cheap umbrellas on really windy and rainy days.

 Design Process

HeartWar’s new layout is actually Version 2.1. I actually had a coded layout before that and it had been all set to go but unfortunately I just left it sitting on my hard disk again (*cough* for 7 months *cough*) then when I saw it again, I just didn’t want to use it anymore and decided to go with something new.

The layout that never was

Yeah, I know how rain is. One time, it was flooding the hallways in our school that we were assigned to balance on the thin wooden platforms nailed on the wall. How stupid the people were. Then suddenly, I slipped and got drenched in the flood. I came home soaking wet. By that time flu was spreading on flood, thank heck I wasn’t hit by it.

Lesson learned: cheap umbrellas are easy to buy but hard to deal with. From now on and beyond, I’m never using cheap umbrellas.

Leaving layouts to dust to death happens to me when school eats me alive. I don’t find it bad, what’s bad is school. Like when it eats you, you get digested up and pooped with nothing left to go back to. Anyway, I love the layout, same with the poor layout over there. It’s best to recycle it. You should put it on your goody bag. I’m very sure it’ll be used by many users. It’s pretty.

Ooo, pretty new layout for your collective 😀 Version 2 looks really nice too, shame that you never got to use it.
I’m the same way when it comes to studying, and for some reason, I always feel extra creative when exams are coming!
Ugh, cheap umbrellas are the worst for windy + rainy days…though I’ve never had the umbrella fabric actually detach from the frames (that’s crazy it even happened!), I’ve had it turn inside out on me countless times…not fun.

    Good luck with your exams!!

Wow, the new layout is gorgeous! I tried to create a vertically sliding layout myself but ended up using too much brown so it just turned out looking like dog poo! Anyway, I love the use of simple colours on heart war, they really compliment each other! And I totally understand, it is freezing here in Brisbane as well 🙁 It’s usually really really hot here, so I’m totally not used to it, and it’s killing me! Have a nice day and good luck with your exams! 🙂

I guess I am major procrastinator too. I have major exams by the end of my term break and I haven’t study a single thing yet. I really like all your layouts. They are so simple and pleasant to my eyes. Love it!

It’s totally the opposite here in Singapore. I am practically drowning myself in my own sweat most of the time.

Aww, I understand your feelings! I’m in UK now, and it’s raining and I hate to go to uni in rainy day! DX This summer is damn cold! I give up using umbrella, and borrow to my friend. Who knows, or I know, the umbrella has broken LOL. Stupid wind! The weather can be really lovely without rain and wind!

Well… My Corial… is dead. T__T I really should put effort in updating my blog and corial. TAT
